Commentator on International Issues

Mr. Scarborough is a writer, radio, TV, and print commentator and former adjunct professor of international studies at Union University in Jackson, TN. He has traveled on 4 continents including the republics of the former Soviet Union: Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia, and has entered eight war zones:

1985 - Afghanistan - with the mujahedeen during the Soviet-Afghan war. [See photo]

1988 - El Salvador – on patrols with Salvadoran Commandos in FMLN Communist guerilla areas. [See photo]

1989 - the Honduran-Nicaraguan border during the contra war.

1991 - Israel during the Gulf War. [See photo]

1993 - Somalia - with the 10th Mountain Division [See photo]

1993 - Bosnia – Sarajevo and the areas of fighting frequented by al Qaeda fighters. [See photo]

1998 - Sudan - to write about the civil war between the Khartoum Muslim government and the non-Muslim south. [See photo]

1999 - Kosovo - on patrols with the 82nd Airborne and with Special Forces in the arrest of a reputed war criminal.[See photo]

Mr. Scarborough has lectured for the military at Ft. Irwin, CA and Ft. Benjamin Harrison. Shortly after September 11, 2001 he gave briefings on Afghanistan for the officer corps of the TN National Guard. For several years prior to Sept. 11, Mr. Scarborough predicted in newspaper and TV commentaries that there would be a major and possibly catastrophic terrorist attack against the US.
